When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication and account recovery.
• Password — stored as a cryptographic hash. We never store or see your plain-text password.
• Display name — optional, used within the app.

If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

We store the flashcard decks you create or generate, along with your study history (review timestamps, difficulty ratings, and scheduling data). This data is used solely to power spaced repetition and display your progress.

When you use the AI deck generation feature, the text or URL you provide is sent to an AI model to generate flashcards. This may involve self-hosted models (Ollama) or third-party AI APIs (such as the Claude API by Anthropic). The content you submit is used only to generate your flashcards and is not used to train AI models.

We use cookies strictly for authentication sessions (powered by NextAuth). These cookies allow you to stay signed in between visits. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

mnem.cards does not currently use any third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as required by law or as described in Section 3 (AI content generation through third-party APIs).

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and secure session management. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your personal data and study history from our systems. To request account deletion, contact us or use the account settings within the app.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app or by email.
